Handcolors

These are examples of my handcolored images.The technique involves applying transparent oil paints over a black and white photograph to create a singular piece of art. It is based on techniques used to add color to photos and postcards before the invention of color film. it gives a unique painterly effect and allows the photographer to create whatever colors they decide often allowing for surreal effects
